Pavel Gregorevic Egorov is a celebrated pianist, music coach, and researcher . Before he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory ‘Peter Tchaikovsky’ in 1975, he won the Robert Schumann International Competition in Zwickau, Germany, where he returned later on as a judge. He has judged numerous other music competitions, such as ‘Virtuosos 2000’, Peter Tchaikovsky International Youth Competition, Ladder to Parnassus TV Competition, and since 1989, he has been  the Chairman of the Jury for the International Forte Piano Competition “Brother and Sister” in St. Petersburg. Pavel Egorov is also a renowned music researcher, having collected Robert Schumann’s complete forte piano works in seven volumes for which in 1989 he was awarded the Robert Schumann’s Prize, and became an honorary member of the International Schumann Society in Dusseldorf. In 2001, he initiated the first Russian Urtext publication of Bach’s Well Tempered Clavier work, and in 2001-2002, Pavel Egorov participated in the Circle of Life concert series in the Grand Choral Synagogue of St. Petersburg. To celebrate Schumann’s 200th Anniversary in 2010, he organized and participated in a 7-hour-long marathon concert at the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall along with other renowned musicians, such as Sergei Slonimsky, Mikhail Gantvarg, Boris Bloch, Julia Stradler, etc. As a music coach, Peter Egorov leads the “La scuola Russa” master class series in Rome, and has taught in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and Taiwan.

7:10 – Piano recital by Maestro Egorov. Program features works of Beethoven, Schumann, Tchaikovsky, and Scriabin.
